How can I check if my SRD R350 grant is approved?

If you applied for the SRD Grant, which was introduced by the South African government during the Covid-19 pandemic, you probably have very little financial means to support yourself and your family.

The R350 grant is meant to help the poorest people in South Africa, between the ages of 18 and 60 years, to provide them with a small source of funds for their most basic needs.

If you applied for the Covid-19 SRD grant (Apply here for the SRD Grant), you are probably wondering if your grant has been approved yet and when you can expect to be paid. Keep reading to find out!
 

How do I check my SRD grant status?

Check your SASSA grant status here

You will need to fill in your ID number and the cellphone number you used to apply.
 

If your R350 grant has been approved, your screen should look like the one below.

• First you will see the month on the top (eg. “APR2022”)
• next will be the “outcome” (if yours does not say “approved”, read what does my SRD grant status mean)
• next will show “payday” which indicates the date of the month you can expect to receive payment
• and lastly you will see a “filed” which is the date you applied for the SRD grant

If your R350 grant has been declined, first make sure you do meet the SRD grant criteria, and if you do, you can submit an appeal with the Department of Social Development and have your application reassessed.
